Josie Mitchell - Bespoke Jeweller in Frome

Storytelling brand photography and film for bespoke jeweller Josie Mitchell

After eight years running her jewellery business, Josie found herself entering a new chapter.

Over the last few years, she'd built a reputation for creating distinctive bespoke pieces, grown from market stalls to high-end commissions, opened and closed a shop, employed a team member and, most recently, become a mum.

The business had evolved alongside her life, and now it was time for her imagery to reflect where she was heading next.

Following maternity leave, Josie made the conscious decision to step away from the traditional expectations of growth and instead create a business that felt more aligned with the life she wanted. Working from a private studio allowed her to focus on the aspects of jewellery making she loves most, whilst creating more space for family life and the things that matter most.

Josie booked the Brand Story Experience and our goal was to create a library of storytelling imagery and video that captured not only the finished jewellery, but the person and process behind it.

What makes Josie's work so special is that every piece begins with a conversation. Her clients aren't simply buying jewellery; in a way, they’re telling their story through jewellery. They're remodelling treasured heirlooms, designing super personal engagement rings, or marking key moments in their lives. Trust sits at the centre of everything she does, and the process really exemplifies that.

Throughout the day, we documented the details that make her business uniquely hers. Sketches and consultations. Gemstones and raw materials. The tools of her trade. The concentration and care of the actual making. The lush walk to her studio. Moments of inspiration drawn from nature. And the thoughtful, personal approach that has become the foundation of her reputation.

“Oh my gosh!!! It’s absolutely perfect Celie! This is even better than I had imagined.

Thank you so much for capturing my work so beautifully- you have done such an amazing job.

The flower additions were such a great idea and they complement it so well. I’m really happy with my interview too.

Thank you so much though for creating such a calm and relaxed environment for the entire process- I am utterly delighted with the final result”

Rather than creating polished, perfection-driven imagery, we focused on capturing Josie’s authenticity. The connection between maker and client and the warmth of the workshop. The texture of the materials and Josie’s joy with making something by hand. Because that's ultimately what Josie's brand is built on.

Her work celebrates individuality and honours the stories attached to treasured objects. But - ever the rebel - what I love is the way she challenges the traditional rules of the jewellery industry. Whether she's redesigning a family heirloom or creating a one-of-a-kind engagement ring, her approach is always rooted in care, creativity and trust.

The resulting photography and film now give Josie a versatile collection of content for her website, social media and marketing, helping potential clients see not only what she creates, but - IMHO, most importantly - how it feels to work with her.

And for a business built on personal connection, that's every bit as important as the jewellery itself.
