Evolutionary Personal Brand Photography for Somerset Events Producer, Jess Gould
After years working in live events production, Jess had recently completed new qualifications and was preparing to step into a more senior freelance role through her business, Field Notes Studio.
She wanted personal brand photography that felt professional and polished, but still warm, human and true to her values and personality.
And there was a real sense of transition woven through this Brand Story Experience with Jess.
Jess initially imagined needing traditional business photography, in the office at your-desk-with-your-laptop shots…
But through the planning process, it became clear that the strongest visual story wasn’t about recreating an office environment, it was about capturing the energy, confidence and creativity she brings to her work.
Together, we planned a personal brand photography session in one of Bath’s most beautiful outdoor locations, the Botanical Gardens, and a favourite local café.
The calm surroundings and natural light gave us space to create a mix of authentic portraits, editorial brand photography and relaxed storytelling imagery that reflected both Jess’s professionalism and personality.
Jess described the planning process as especially helpful, not only logistically, but emotionally too. Having space to mentally prepare for something new and unfamiliar helped transform the shoot from something intimidating into something genuinely enjoyable.

One of my favourite things about personal brand photography is helping people realise they don’t need to perform professionalism to be taken seriously.
