When residential architect Jenny Carlin returned to work with me for updated portraits, she had already built a strong reputation through her practice, Silvan Architects. We'd previously collaborated on a Brand Story Experience, and many of the photographs from that original shoot had become a key part of how she presented herself and her business online.
This time, the brief was simple: create a fresh set of portraits that reflected where Jenny is now in her career.
As an architect specialising in thoughtful, sustainable homes, Jenny wanted imagery that communicated professionalism and expertise, whilst still feeling warm, approachable and genuinely human.
Her brand values are rooted in a philosophy that feels both grounded and aspirational: having your head in the treetops, but your feet firmly planted in the ground. She guides clients through what can often feel like a complex journey, helping them find their way through the woods with clarity and confidence. Underpinning it all is a genuine belief that who cares wins.
Like many of my clients, Jenny wasn't interested in traditional corporate headshots or overly formal business photography. Instead, she wanted portraits that felt natural, confident and true to the way she works with clients every day.
Because we’d already built a strong working relationship, the session felt relaxed from the start. With trust already established, we were able to focus on creating authentic portraits that balanced authority with warmth, capturing the calm confidence, care and grounded expertise that sit at the heart of Jenny's practice.
