GoodWork - Social Mobility Non-Profit in London
Story-led Brand Photography for an organisation with true purpose
When organisations are doing genuinely purposeful work, their photography should feel just as alive, human and intentional as the impact they’re creating.
GoodWork is a youth employment non-profit based in London, helping young people access opportunities, build confidence, and navigate the world of work with meaningful support.
After initially working together back in 2023 on a more studio-led brand photography shoot, the team returned wanting a fresh set of portrait and lifestyle images that reflected how much the organisation had evolved.
Most excitingly, they now had a vibrant office space of their own, full of personality, collaboration and energy, making it the perfect setting for more authentic storytelling brand photography.
Ahead of the shoot, we worked together through a collaborative Creative Direction Session to shape a clear visual story around the heart of GoodWork’s mission.
Together, we identified the key themes the imagery needed to communicate:
connection, inclusivity, collaboration and the transformative impact of one-to-one support.
The final Shoot Plan carefully balanced structure with spontaneity, creating space to capture both the quieter moments of support and the livelier atmosphere of workshops and team interactions.
Throughout the day, we documented:
energetic careers workshops and group activities
relaxed team and individual portraits
one-to-one mentoring and interview preparation
collaborative moments between staff and young people
natural interactions that reflected the warmth and humanity of the organisation
Moving away from a traditional studio environment allowed the images to feel more grounded in the real day-to-day experience of GoodWork.
The result was a gallery of commercial lifestyle photography and social storytelling photography that felt vibrant, welcoming and emotionally honest.
Since the shoot, the imagery has been used widely across GoodWork’s website, annual report and social media, helping them connect with sponsors, volunteers, young people and brand partners in a much more impactful way.
And then BOOM! GoodWork were featured in The Big Issue’s “100 Changemakers of 2026” feature, with one of the photographs from our shoot selected as the hero image for the article.
This happened because GoodWork are doing super important work with care and conviction, and because they invested in story-led editorial photography that immediately communicated the story, values, and credibility of the organisation.
For charities, CICs and purpose-led organisations especially, strong visual storytelling isn’t communicating how professional you are, it helps people feel something.
These images build trust faster. They communicate your values and integrity instantly. And sometimes, it opens doors to opportunities far bigger than you first imagined.
