Choosing a Location for your Brand Photography Session

Deciding what location to use for your Photography Session does require some dedicated thinking time.

Luckily for you, I have years of experience of working in a huge variety of locations such as clients homes, location houses, forests and photography studios.

Decide what location to use for your Brand Photoshoot by considering the positive attributes and things to consider of these 4 main options: Your Home, A Location House, Outdoors or a Photography Studio.

Your own (or a friends) Home:

✅ More personal

✅ No extra fee

✅ No travel

✅ All of your props and clothing options are to hand

👀 Lighting or aesthetic might not suit your brand or vision for the images

👀 Consider if you have time to organise the space in the way you’d like to

Location House:

✅ Walk in to a ready-to-use environment

✅ Can choose your style of natural light

✅ Choose a colour palette and interior design style that feel just right for your brand

✅ Positioned all over the country through a range of agencies (I have a list of these in my Brand Story Welcome Pack!)

👀 Could cost between £50-£800

Outdoors:

✅ Free

✅ Available all year round to suit your seasonal aesthetic

✅ Offers a lot of personality and variation

✅ The very best lighting to the world has to offer!

👀 Cold in the winter

👀 Variable English weather could mean the session needs to be postponed at shorter notice

Photography Studio:

✅ Great if you have a very specific style of lighting you’d like to achieve

✅ A range of simple or more artful backgrounds available so we can get really creative

✅ Often cheaper than a location house

✅ Easy to change into different outfits

👀 Need to bring all props ourselves

Don’t forget, you don’t have to just choose one!

My Brand Story Experiences often cover a couple of nearby locations so we can make the most of an indoor and outdoor location. This helps us to showcase more of your passions, inspirations and personality.

I’ll support you in choosing your ideal space, or with my Location Scouting Add-on, I can take charge of finding, presenting and booking your Photography location for you.
