Brand & Lifestyle Photography: your location is a key character
Wherever I shoot, I can’t help but photograph the surroundings, especially when I’m in someone’s home. Within the small details that are so easily missed, are clues that express a persons travels, charm and unique experiences that makes them whole.

These images kind of act as a special kind of portrait in itself. They can tell you so much about a person. What they love, their hobbies and passions, the themes they’ve carried throughout life - maybe without even noticing.
I love the mystique and magic of seeing a persons soul without seeing them in the flesh.
I always think it’s beautiful. The way a book lies open on a coffee table, a coat draped over a chair, a half-finished cup of tea catching the light, all these small details speak volumes.
It’s a kind of storytelling that can be as informative and sensitive as it can be funny (see sausages below)!
Within Personal Brand Photography Sessions, these bespoke stock images also make great backgrounds for stories and filler images for posts with an important caption.
They help you keep your visual presence cohesive and deeply personal, even when you don’t feel like being in front of the camera.
They bring warmth and authenticity to your website and marketing materials, ensuring that every image still feels like you - even the ones without your face.
This is why choosing a location for your Photography Session is a key decision not to be rushed (and one that I will always help with!).
If you don’t want to use your own home because it’s full of toddler toys or just doesn’t feel like you, we have plenty of other options like hiring a location house - check out this post to help with that!
