Brand Photography for GoodWork - Social Impact Non-Profit

Not your average corporate imagery

When GoodWork asked me to make images and videos to promote their valuable, inclusive and super important work, I jumped at the chance!

GoodWork is non-profit who offers an innovative Early Careers Programme to young people who have the ambition to succeed in a career, but face barriers to work.

By supporting both these talented and driven young people and prospective employers who are prepared to offer a real living wage and on-the-job learning, it’s a real win-win situation.

The project had 2 clear but somewhat challenging aims:

  • To make photos & video clips for web and socials that appeal to both the corporate world and young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Demonstrate what the organisation is all about in an authentic, exciting way.

We decided the best way to do this was by documenting a day of training, where the interns learned a wide range of skills that would help them in the following 6 month placement in their new role.

I had such a great day with the team in London, as they took part in group exercises and worked on individual projects. I also made individual portraits with everyone so they’d have a professional profile image for LinkedIn and their CV.

The results have become a core element of GoodWork’s visual identity, helping them clearly share their story with potential partners and participants.

Since our time together, they have secured their own permanent office space in central London, gained sponsorship and support from multiple global brands like Monzo and helped many rounds of young people in gaining jobs in the careers they enjoy.

“We loved working with Celie. She totally understands GoodWork’s mission and has helped us translate it into imagery that feels authentic, energetic and full of purpose. She was great at working with our programme participants and putting them at ease. We always get compliments on the beautiful images Celie produced for us, so much so that more than two years on we knew we wanted to get Celie back to work her magic for us as we refresh our branding. We can't wait to work with her again!”

Expressive, calm personal branding imagery that invites connection.

Jessie’s new website feels so much more aligned with her vision and purpose than when it was full of stock images and out-of date, inconsistent portraits.
