Alice Mary Lynch - Somerset Textile Artist
Bringing this magical maker’s work and story to life with an Artists Lifestyle Photography Session
Alice’s studio in Somerset is the kind of dreamy space you instantly want to linger in.
Tucked amongst shelves of colour, texture and inspiration, every corner holds evidence of the care, craftsmanship and oodles of imagination that goes into all of her work.
While Alice already had beautiful photographs of her creations from our previous collaborations (we’ve been working together since 2022!), we realised there was something quite key missing from the story: her.
Everything was feeling a bit “2 dimensional”, and Alice booked a Flow State session so we could create imagery that shows more of the 'universe' and depth around her incredible creations.
As an artist and maker whose work has been stocked by both Harrods and Fortnum & Mason, Alice pours an extraordinary amount of time, technical skill and love into each piece she creates.
This Documentary-led Lifestyle Photography Session was designed to capture more of that behind-the-scenes magic through a mix of storytelling brand photography, detailed imagery and relaxed portraits within her creative space.
Ahead of the shoot, we spent time planning the session together over Zoom, exploring Alice’s process and thinking carefully about how to translate it visually.
The result was a gallery of editorial lifestyle imagery that not only showcased the finished artwork, but the hands (and feet! With those glorious shimmery brogues!), tools, materials and moments behind it all too.
Despite the cosy size of the space, it offered the most beautiful natural light and such a strong sense of personality, making it the perfect backdrop for authentic brand portraits and creative process imagery.
"I am so glad I took the plunge with this."
I have continued to have a great response to the shots I have already used on social media so far, and I know this is something I will invest in again now I understand the value of it.
You are such a cheerful photographer who made it feel quite easy and even fun! THANK YOU CELIE!!!!”

One of my favourite things about sessions like this is helping creative businesses show the depth and true magic of what they do.
Not just showcasing the polished final piece (although I aim to please there too!), but capturing the process, the energy and the oh-so-wonderful humanity that makes people connect with the work in the first place.
